Ever wanted an ipod with a longer battery life, better sound quality and a zippier user interface? I know I have and so did tarkan from tarkan.info. That is why he decided to open up his 5G iPod and outfit it with a compact flash drive. The hardest part of this project is undoubtedly preparing the conversion board for the ide interface. Nonetheless, the final product is great.

Leave it up to Phillip to be the first to laser etch the iPhone. I swear that is their favorite toy over there at Make. Nonetheless, those good ole guys over at Make have gone and laser etched an iPhone with those flying toasters from the After Dark screensavers back in the day... remember those? Be sure to check the link for a video of the etching in action.

Duct Tape Server Mod... huh? |

Yea, we had the same thought when we heard the word duct-tape and server in the same sentence. However, I have to hand it to these guys, they created a half decent server enclosure for very cheap. Despite their statistics on their website, I have to question the cooling abilities of the enclosure. After all, duct-tape is a pretty good insulator. This just furthers the saying, "if you can't duct it...."

Most Mac users eventually want to put together a home media center involving their favorate computer brand. Mac modder Jamesatfish decided he was going to set up the ultimate Mac media/iTunes center. He had the following requirements:Apple-based, easy to use, all-in-one (or at least mostly) and network ready.
