 Owen McGarry's iTop, iPod mod, might not be one of the most elegant looking mods we have seen to the iPod, but it may be one of the most functional mods, at least for people who leave their ipod lying on a desk. Owen had a .mac site with more info on the mod, but it was pulled for bandwidth abuse. Note to Owen... That is why MacMod.com exists, to prevent this!  Well, Steve called the Apple TV a little pet project "hobby" of his. And, its of no surprise that others have taken the same outlook on the relatively cheap device. With Alan Quatermain's recent release of his SDK for Frontrow, appropriately named Backrow, now everyone can begin making their own apps for the unit. So, get down with your coding self and lets see some good stuff!

 OK, this might be the coolest software mod I have seen in a very long time. Apparently the motion sensor in the Macbook Pro's, intended for HD preservation on dropage, can be modded for use with whatever you like. But, in this case, being used for Virtual Desktops.  Ok, I know what you are thinking... WHY? And, I also know that you have the answer to this question... WHY NOT? At least that is electric0ant's outlook on the matter. He has sucessfully converted his xbox on over to an os x goodness machine. Now, I wonder how much Microsoft likes this?
