255px-amiga1000.jpgSome of you young whipper-snappers may not remember the Amiga, but back in the day it was the Quad-Core Mac of the time. Unfortunately, with the rise of Apple/Microsoft and increasing incompetance in leadership, Amiga eventually closed doors, seemingly never to be heard from again. Like Atari, they only filled a small niche in our memory, of great days gone by... ah, youth! Well, now the perpetual sleep is over! The Amiga has returned! Even more interesting, with PowerPC hardware. How long until the remnant of the PowerPC club hack OS X to work on brand new Amiga hardware?

Check it out...

Sorry to burst your bubble but the AMIGA systems are from Commodore International and they have used PPC CPUs for almost a decade now. Yes there hasn't been a new system made in god knows when but many AMIGA users have been keeping their systems updated. Tons of small 3rd party companies have been making PPC upgrade cards for a while and IDE controllers for ZIP, CD and I think even DVD. Each time I look around a new version of Workbench is out.

I remember seeing a website that sold used AMIGA hardware and they made Apple look cheap. Like a AMIGA 1500 motherboard /w with 604 PPC 250MHz CPU upgrade card for 400 dollars.

Heres a example for a AMIGA 2000 for $550
