400 Mac Mini's in a desert

macminicolo-macminis.pngEver wonder what 400 Mac Mini's would look like?  Well, you can't see all of them, but over at MacMiniColo they have a snapshot of an example.  MacMiniColo is basically a hosting company that you send your MacMini to.  They are physically secure, environmentally (temperature, humidity) secure, and have multiple power supplies.  Basically, your Mac Mini can run forever, and if it fails, it has another few hundred it's content can be copied to.

It seems to me to be an overkill, but if you are looking for a safe and secure housing for your web applciation, this looks pretty good.  Out of my price range, but the picture and concept is cool.

MacMiniColo, the condiminium for your Mac Mini.

get a real server, screw the mac mini...

If you want cheap, get a VPS on a real server. There are no real advantages to colocating a mac mini.
