Apple COO jumps ship.

logo-apple-whiteonblack.pngYou don't often hear of high ranking Apple employees jumping ship, so this caught my eye.  The Chinese Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Apple has left Apple for Baidu.com.  Baidu is basically a Google style search engine, but it is built around the Chinese language.  Baidu's stock took a big jump on news of this (up over $8).

While this should have no direct impact on the US Markets, China is a big Market in general.  Apple now has to re-organize it's operations there.

It's important to reiterate that this was Apple China's COO, Peng Ye, *not* Tim Cook, the COO of the U.S. division of Apple, Inc. (http://www.apple.com/pr/bios/cook.html)
