A multi-touch interface for the Mac is being developed, but not by Apple. It's being developed by a 17-year old high school student as his science project. That's right. What people have been dieing for on the Mac isn't coming from Cupertino, it's coming from Orem, Utah.
Bridger Maxwell has designed a wood encased multi-touch device using LED lights and infra-red cameras to capture the signals. He is also built upon the open source "Open Touch" by writing a library for interacting with the Mac OS's Cocoa. He is also using Core Animation to display the motions up front.
Good Job Bridger! Can't wait to see what else he can come up with! Check out his blog for more info and plenty of pictures.
