Having been recently inspired by that ElectroNumeroGraph mod, and increasingly by the works of Jules Verne, purposed to build a laptop that would feel at home aboard the Nautilus. Now, I only have one G4 Powerbook at my disposal right now, and I can't afford to mess it up.So, I decided to go with this HP Omnibook for my prototype...,beta if you will. It's just a sketch really. I used a lot of the good old krylon and rustoleum on this one. And the steel wool treatment at the key places gives it that distressed look you have to have. Some custom lables give a nice touch both on the palm rest and on the under-side. Note the nautilus motto "Mobilis In Mobili" on the bottom label. Felt for the front feet and two feet from a Remington Model 7 Typewriter int the back really make the undercarriage interesting. Let me know what you think, suggestions are much appreciated! I'll put the full howto on my site as well as here when I have the opportunity to finish it. But keep an eye out for the real deal, the 17" G4 Nautilus Powerbook to be comming out soon! Update: Nautilus 2 is finished! and the full walkthrough/howto will be up in very short order! Here's a look, and click the picture to go to the full Gallery. Check my website for more info.
