Well, apparently Apple does listen.  It wasn't but a few months ago that Joseph DeRuvo Jr. posted his modified ibook on macmod.  Joseph had completely modified his ibook into a personalized tablet mac that he called the i-tablet.  This incredible mod attracted a lot of attention from tablet mac entheusiast all over.  Ronny Slater was so impressed with Joseph's work that it inspired him to create a petition that has been ongoing ever since.

John Kheit has just reported that Apple has been awarded the patent for which rumors have been floating around.  US Design Patent No. D504,899 describes the unit as an "electronic device" which is clearly known as a tablet pc by the images provided.  When will this great device be released?  Will it even see the light of day?  We have heard many rumors about tablet macs over the past few years, including the filing of this patent.  However, the awarding of the patent is clearly a first step in the right direction. But please remember that apple has filed many design patents in their day, without necessarily ever marketing the product. Read on to see some images of the tablet.
