 -769mb RAM (3 pairs of 128mb) total=1088mb
 -Acard ATA133 pci card (2buses)
 -Ati Radeon 7000/64mb (flashed)
 -Sonnet Tango USB&Firewire
 -2 Seagate Barracuda (60&80gb)
 -Combo drive (of my G5)

Materials:
-Black matt paint
-Black glossy paint
-White LED
-Adhesive paper (to make lateral masks)

Last April, i bought  an old 9600 350 (ppc604ev!!) to a friend...

my first intention was overclock this 604ev to 400mhz (easy), use barracuda scsi ultra lvd and adaptec card and use xPostfacto... but... xpostfacto... only can use 10.2 with this 604ev (but it's more express than G3).
Another friend sold me an "upgrade kit" used, the cpu, ata card, pci graphics and the memory...

i bought it, and start this modding...

First of all...  i made the two masks to paint my Apple-Q logo in the lateral sides of the tower.

Then...  i proceed the disassemble

i want to show the excess of dirt inside the tower!  its horrible! XD

this is the old hardware:  ppc604ev 350mhz, adaptec ultra lvd card, Ati RagePro 128 and re-used rtl ethernet card.

i want express my feelings, there is no new Mainboards like these now!  is robust and very ampliable...  and very well designed...

the disassemble guide of the plastic components is in my website (www.darksidemac.com)

next step i proceed to clean

and my favorite step!  PAINT IT BLACK  (www.paintitmac.com XD)

when the pieces are dry, i proceed to hook the masks and paint it in glossy.  SRQ are my name abbreviations (Q it's the name :) )

these is the logo results:

i make the new model label

and asamblee the case parts

now, i start the upgrade:

all kit:

6x128mb edo pair ram

Sonnet G4 700mhz

Sonnet Tango

Acard ATA133

Ati Radeon 700 flashed....

and these are all inside

the rear panel

and mounted!

but, this isn't the last step...

i put in an white led, replacing the yellow led.

now... I FINISH!

my sister it's very hapy with this mod, he is using 10.4 tiger.  There isn't problems to run tiger with xpostfacto, and... its the fastest '97  machine :)
