So we've had R2-D2 mods on here before, this isn't a new concept.  What make this mod stand out is how it was made.  Frenk Janse made this R2 case mod from a trash can he was told to get rid of, and ended up making a great case for under $120.  What I really liked about Frenk's work is that he doesn't have a huge garage to build it in.  Lots of this mod is showing off Frenk's ability around a cramped workspace.

This case mod has been extremely well documented.  Perhaps the best documentation on a R2-D2 mod that I've seen to date.  We've posted some pictures after the jump, so take a look then follow the link to see the mod guide with over 150 pictures of the build process.


This mod was made with lots of hard work and non-power tools.
