The iBed, your bedtop computer
Written by Chris Tangora
Ever have to shoot out that quick email before bed or wanted to wake up to the iTunes visualizer? Lifehacker reader Nathan needed something to take his mind of losing his job, so he took a box of broken iBooks (from his previous employer) and started building a working iBook. When he realized that the iBooks were having issues with their GPU and movement, he tried fixing it with fire, but couldn't completely fix it. So he did the next best thing. He made the laptop a stationary computer above his bed, a bedtop I guess you could say. Click on the pic for a larger image, or read on for more info.Encased in a wooden box with speakers to each side, the iBed is on coasters so it can be pulled out and tilted when in use and pulled back against the wall while not in use. Used mainly for media playback (a HTMC floating above his bed, how cool), it could also be used as an elaborate alarm clock or, as Nathan did, to find a new job.

I love this mod, it's simple, it's clean, and it's functional. I wake up to the iCal alarm clocks so having something like this would be very handy. Lots of HTMC pieces can be added to your Mac to make it more functional, especially if located as conveniently as a few feet above your head while you lay on your pillows.

I think this have gave me a idea with a extra 10inch monitor and some speakers. Use my iPhone and the wifiremote app to control the mouse and also has a built in keyboard option.
