What I'd like to see at Macworld
Written by Chris Tangora
Everyone and their cousin has a Macworld prediction, so I figured I'd get in on it as well. But instead of saying what I think Apple will release or update, I'm going to mix in some of what I WISH Apple would release. The list, after the jump.
rumor - Chromatic iPhone. A pink iPhone has shown up on eBay, which may be a sign of what is coming. Could the iPhone be available in multiple colors like the smaller iPods? Not likely I'd say, the eBay phone was a custom made job, and both the iPod Touch and iPod Classic are only available in black and white. If the iPhone does go chromatic, then it would be the entire line going. A possibility, yes. Likely, no.
rumor - Mac Mini revamp. This is more than likely, as rumors of the Mac Mini being revamped date back to March of 2008. Back then the rumor mills had it that the Mac Mini department was ordered to gut the device and bring in new internals. Well, if that was true then this would be a good time frame for it. 9 months to completely redesign a product sounds about right. And if the LoopRumors Mac Mini rumors of March 2008 are true, then the new Minis will be about half the size of the current form factors.
wish - a good wireless keyboard. Apple has a great wireless keyboard, and a great wireless mouse. Now combine these two to give us a keyboard with a trackpad like a laptop that runs on bluetooth. Everyone who uses a Mac as a HTMC knows that the keyboard situation isn't good. With that new fancy track/touchpad why not make a keyboard that you could use from the couch?
wish / rumors - Apple Home Server. Or as I like to call it, Apple Server Mini. Make a home edition of the OS X Server, please! Most people who run a multiple Mac household have some kind of centralized computer that does the data storage and other server like tasks. Why doesn't Apple make an OS that allows for some basic server functionality, without having to pay for the 10 client server? They already have a very simplified setup for the OS X Server, so all they need to do is strip out some of the features and make it available to the mass public for less than $500.
wish - almost touch screen Mac. Apple has the patents to make gestures available on new computers without actually touch the screen. Using sensors on the edge of the monitor you can you manipulate files and images without actually coming in contact with the screen. With Apple's most recent patent release (the iPhone glove as it is called) we may see something coming out along these lines. Can we say tablet/oversized iPod/iPhone?
possibility - Snow Leopard. While Snow Leopard may not be coming out at Macworld, more details will definitely be available.
What do you think will be coming out at Macworld, and what is on your wish list?

I want a cheaper Apple TV for modding. An Apple TV that acts only as a media streamer with no drive.
