iFixit has taken apart the new 20" iMac and has some interesting finds. There's a lot so we're going to do this list style ...- LCD is only 1680x1050, despite being 3" larger than the 17" MacBook Pro Unibody (which is 1920x1200).
- Speakers are really loud.
- Completely created on a Mac ("Everything Mac" slogan).
- RAM is only thing accessible by standard phillips screwdriver, everything else is TORX.
- 14 magnets hold the glass to the machine.
- LCD is the traditional CCFL backlight, not LED (AU Optronics M302EW02)
- It takes 21 screw removals to get to the hard drive.
- Removal of the logic board takes 12 torx screws and 13 connectors.
- Single Power Inverter
Bye-Bye FireWire 400

The only part Apple wants you to replace is the RAM

Removing the shiny metal

It looks so, naked.
